Located in Ocean View, DE, the Cape Henlopen Food Basket (CHFB) is dedicated to providing emergency food assistance to individuals and families within the Cape Henlopen School District in Sussex County. Our mission is to ensure that no one faces hunger alone; thus, we support every client with essential supplies, offering a 10-day supply of canned and frozen foods, along with supermarket vouchers for fresh essentials such as milk, eggs, margarine, and bread. While we empower clients by providing immediate aid without judgment, those in need of ongoing support beyond three visits in a three-month period are referred to Delaware State Social Services for further assistance. We prioritize accessibility, closing only during inclement weather when the Cape Henlopen School District is closed, ensuring that our community can consistently rely on us for food pantry services.
