At the Healthy Start Coalition in Lakeland, FL, our mission is to improve the health and developmental outcomes for pregnant women, infants, and children up to age three while working diligently to reduce infant mortality rates and the occurrences of low birth weight babies. We provide comprehensive, targeted support services that include care coordination, outreach, nutrition counseling, and educational resources on childbirth and parenting. Our program also offers psychosocial counseling, tobacco cessation support, and breastfeeding guidance. We welcome all pregnant women, regardless of marital status, economic background, or immigration status, who are at high risk for adverse pregnancy outcomes, including postpartum women and their infants. To take part in our essential services, aspiring participants can start by visiting their OB/GYN to complete a screening for Healthy Start.
