About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Hakalau, HI, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders in sustainable food practices. We sponsor and train Fellows to advance a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. Our Fellowship offers a comprehensive program that includes organic food system education and hands-on experience at our farm. Participants will engage in diverse opportunities such as growing and distributing crops on a market-style farm, developing school and community gardens, and promoting food and ecological literacy in local schools. Our approach also emphasizes support for farmers markets and enhancing access to healthy foods through community partnerships. With no tuition fees, we ensure that this invaluable learning experience is accessible to all. Selected Fellows will embark on a six-month immersive residency, followed by a Community Action Year where they will apply their skills with non-profit partners in the region. Applications are accepted until March for the Fellowship beginning in May.
