About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Based in Hanalei, HI, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to cultivating a just and sustainable food system through education and community engagement. We empower Fellows to advocate for social, environmental, and economic equity in food systems, providing them with immersive training opportunities. The fellowship covers tuition costs, ensuring accessibility for all participants. Over six months, selected Fellows engage in hands-on learning at our farm, where they grow and distribute diverse crops, conduct innovative health care educational sessions, and maintain vital community and school gardens. They also deepen food and ecological literacy, support farmers markets, develop distribution channels for healthy food access, and contribute to community food coalition efforts. Following their fellowship, participants enter a Community Action Year, applying their skills in collaboration with regional non-profits to make a lasting impact. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
