The Senior Food Box Program in Hanalei, HI, is dedicated to supporting low-income kūpuna by providing a monthly supply of nutritious USDA food through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). Our mission is to alleviate senior hunger and its related health risks, helping participants maintain their health, avoid costly hospitalizations, and remain independent. Each carefully packed Senior Food Box is designed to supplement dietary needs with essential nutrients. To join the program, interested individuals can download and complete the application available online, which should then be submitted to the Hawaii Foodbank. Please note that due to high demand and limited availability, there are currently waitlists for our distribution sites, and clients on the waitlist may not receive a box each month. However, we strive to distribute any extra boxes at the conclusion of each distribution to those awaiting assistance.
