About Senior Food Box Program
The Senior Food Box Program, also known as the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), is dedicated to providing essential food assistance to low-income kūpuna in Hanapepe, HI. Each month, eligible seniors receive a thoughtfully curated box filled with nutritious USDA food designed to combat senior hunger and its adverse health effects. By participating in this program, kūpuna gain access to vital nutrients that can help prevent expensive hospital visits and the need for nursing care. To join the program, interested individuals should download the application available online and submit it to the Hawaii Foodbank. Due to the strong demand for these food boxes, there is currently a waitlist for distribution sites, and enrollment does not guarantee a monthly box. However, extra boxes may be available at the end of each distribution for those on the waitlist. Together, we are working to ensure that our seniors have access to the nourishment they deserve.
