About Children with Special Health Needs Program (CSHNP)
The Children with Special Health Needs Program (CSHNP) in Hawaii National Park, HI, is dedicated to ensuring that every child and youth aged 0-21 with chronic medical conditions achieves their fullest potential for health and development. Our program is designed to support children with long-term health care needs and their families by offering essential services such as information and referral, service coordination for specialized medical care, nutrition services, and transition planning to adult health care. We also provide access to specialized clinics for neurology, cardiac care, and nutrition on the Neighbor Islands, as well as limited financial assistance for those who qualify. Families can benefit from a range of services including medical specialist visits, laboratory testing, prescription medications, and assistance with travel and lodging expenses necessary for obtaining medical care. We welcome health care providers and families to reach out to us for applications or referrals, as we work together to ensure optimal health outcomes for our children.
