About Early Head Start (EHS)
Early Head Start (EHS) is a dedicated federally funded program located in Hawaii National Park, HI, that focuses on enriching the lives of low-income families with infants and toddlers under three years old, as well as supporting pregnant women. Our unique home-based approach, available throughout East Hawaii, emphasizes child development through tailored weekly home visits where trained home visitors guide parents in fostering their child's learning and growth. We also offer enriching group socialization activities twice a month, creating opportunities for families to connect and engage in supportive parent-child interactions. With resources that include early learning activities, health and development screenings, family support services, and specialized curricula for expectant mothers, EHS is committed to nurturing the potential of our youngest community members and empowering their families.
