About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Hawi, HI, is dedicated to nurturing individuals who are passionate about building a fair and sustainable food system. This transformative program empowers fellows through hands-on education, focusing on organic food practices and community engagement. Without charging tuition, we strive to make our fellowship accessible to all. Participants embark on a six-month immersive experience at AMI’s Allegheny Farm Campus, where they learn to grow diversified crops, lead educational initiatives, and integrate food and ecological literacy into local schools and communities. Following this period, fellows enter a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to put their training into practice by supporting food access initiatives, farmers markets, and community garden projects. We invite those interested to apply by March each year, with experiences typically taking place from May to October, as together we work toward an equitable and resilient food future.
