About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Honaunau, HI, we are dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Our fellowship provides an immersive six-month training at our farm campus, free of charge to ensure accessibility for all aspiring farmers and educators. Participants engage in diverse, hands-on experiences including growing and distributing crops on market-style farms, implementing innovative educational sessions in health care, and maintaining community gardens. Additionally, fellows play a crucial role in integrating food and ecological literacy into schools, supporting farmers markets, and enhancing distribution channels to improve access to nutritious food. After the fellowship, participants enter a Community Action Year, where they apply their skills in collaboration with regional nonprofits. We welcome applications until March each year, with the program running from May to October, paving the way for meaningful community engagement and sustainable food systems.
