About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Honomu, HI, is dedicated to cultivating socially, environmentally, and economically just food systems by training and empowering passionate individuals. Our Fellowship offers a unique six-month experiential program at our vibrant farm, where selected fellows receive comprehensive organic food system education without any tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all. Participants gain firsthand experience in diverse areas such as market-style farming, community garden maintenance, and the integration of food literacy into educational initiatives. They also play a vital role in supporting farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs, as well as developing distribution channels to enhance access to healthy foods. Following their residency, fellows apply their learning during a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profit organizations to advocate for sustainable practices. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience taking place from May to October.
