About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Kahului, HI, is dedicated to cultivating a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic sustainability. Through our immersive six-month program, we sponsor and empower Fellows, providing them with vital training in organic food systems, which equips them to become effective educators and advocates. Participants engage hands-on with local farming initiatives, from growing and distributing diverse crops on market-style farms to implementing innovative educational sessions focused on health care. We prioritize accessibility by not charging tuition, ensuring that anyone passionate about food and ecological literacy can participate. After their training at our farm campus, Fellows apply their knowledge during a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to enhance food access, maintain community gardens, support farmers markets, and mentor future Fellows. We invite aspiring leaders to join us in transforming our food systems; applications are accepted until March each year, with experiences occurring from May to October.
