About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
Located in Kailua Kona, HI, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to cultivating a just and sustainable food system through education and empowerment. Our program sponsors and trains passionate individuals to become advocates and educators for food systems that are socially, environmentally, and economically equitable. We offer a tuition-free Fellowship to ensure accessibility, enabling participants to engage in hands-on learning about organic agriculture. Fellows will have opportunities to grow and distribute diverse crops, develop community gardens, conduct health-oriented educational sessions, and enhance food literacy among schools. By supporting farmers markets and creating efficient channels for healthy food access, our Fellows contribute directly to vital community initiatives. The program includes a transformative six-month experiential study phase on our campus, followed by a Community Action Year where they apply their training with local nonprofit partners. Interested applicants should complete their submissions by March for the experience that runs from May to October, fostering positive change in the food landscape of Hawaii.
