About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Kamuela, HI, is dedicated to empowering the next generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Our program provides comprehensive training in organic food systems, enabling Fellows to engage in meaningful community initiatives that foster social, environmental, and economic justice. Through hands-on learning at our facilities, participants work to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health education, maintain gardens, and enhance food literacy in schools. By partnering with local organizations, Fellows support farmers markets, develop access routes for healthy food, and mentor new teammates, all while it remains tuition-free to ensure accessibility. Each cohort embarks on a transformative six-month residency followed by a Community Action Year, putting newfound skills into practice and making a lasting impact in their communities. Applications are welcomed until March each year, with programs running from May to October.
