The Children with Special Health Needs Program (CSHNP) serves the Kapaa, HI community by ensuring that all children and youth with special health care needs, from birth to 21 years old, can achieve optimal health and development. We are dedicated to supporting children with chronic health conditions requiring specialized medical attention, along with their families, through a variety of essential services. Our offerings include information and referral, service coordination for medical specialty care, nutrition and nutritional counseling, hearing and vision services, and support for transitioning to adult health care. Additionally, we provide access to neurology, cardiac, and nutrition clinics on Neighbor Islands, along with limited financial assistance for specialized care if families qualify. We also facilitate medical specialist visits, laboratory tests, imaging services, and supply prescription medications, hearing aids, and related support. Families in need can reach out to us directly to apply for services, and healthcare providers are encouraged to submit referrals to ensure that every child receives the care they deserve.
