The Senior Food Box Program, also known as the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), is dedicated to providing low-income kūpuna in Kaumakani, HI, with a monthly supply of nutritious USDA food. Our mission is to address senior hunger and its related health challenges by ensuring that our elderly community members receive essential nutrients to maintain their health and reduce the risk of hospitalizations and nursing home placements. Each Senior Food Box is thoughtfully designed to supplement dietary needs and provide comfort to our kūpuna. To join the program, interested individuals can apply through our online application, which should be submitted to the Hawaii Foodbank. Due to the growing demand, there are currently waitlists at distribution locations, and while on the waitlist, participation in monthly distributions is not guaranteed. However, any extra boxes from each distribution may be offered to those on the waitlist, ensuring that support is available whenever possible.
