The Senior Food Box Program in Kaumakani, HI, also known as the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), is dedicated to fighting senior hunger by providing essential food assistance to low-income kūpuna. Each month, enrollees receive a thoughtfully curated box filled with quality USDA food, designed to supplement crucial nutrients and enhance the health and well-being of our cherished elderly community. By helping to prevent the health risks associated with inadequate nutrition, this program aims to reduce hospital visits and the need for nursing home care among seniors. Participation is easy; simply download the application online and submit it to the Hawaii Foodbank. Due to the high demand for our services, all distribution sites currently maintain wait lists, but clients on the list may receive extra boxes as they become available at the end of each distribution.
