Early Head Start (EHS) in Keaau, HI, is a dedicated federally funded initiative that focuses on providing essential services for low-income families, specifically targeting pregnant women, infants, and toddlers under three years old. Our home-based program, uniquely designed for the Island of Hawaii, connects families with weekly visits from trained home visitors who facilitate child-focused lessons that empower parents in their child’s development. To foster community and connection, we host group socialization activities twice a month, offering enriching interactions for both parents and their children. EHS also delivers comprehensive support, including early learning opportunities, health and development screenings, and specialized curricula for prenatal education, ensuring families are equipped with the tools they need to thrive. With plans for future classroom locations in Hawaiian Beaches and Hilo, we are committed to enhancing the lives of families across East Hawaii.
