About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Keaau, HI, is dedicated to cultivating a just food system through education and empowerment. We sponsor and train passionate individuals to become advocates and educators in sustainable practices that benefit communities environmentally, socially, and economically. Our program offers a comprehensive organic food system education, ensuring accessibility by waiving tuition fees. Fellows engage in hands-on experiences on a market-style farm, where they grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health care education sessions, and maintain community gardens. By integrating food and ecological literacy into school programs and supporting farmers markets, we work to enhance access to healthy foods for everyone. Selected Fellows embark on a transformative six-month residency at our farm, followed by a Community Action Year, allowing them to apply their skills with local non-profits. Interested candidates should apply by March for our seasonal experience, running from May to October, as we strive to make a meaningful impact in our communities.
