About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Kealia, HI, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of leaders in sustainable agriculture. Our program provides comprehensive training that empowers Fellows to advocate for a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. Through hands-on experiences, participants learn organic farming techniques and community engagement strategies, enabling them to grow and distribute a variety of crops while fostering health literacy and ecological education. We believe in equitable access to food resources, which is why the fellowship is tuition-free. Over six months of immersive learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, our Fellows collaborate with local non-profits to develop community gardens, support farmers' markets, and create programs that enhance distribution channels for healthy foods. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
