About Senior Food Box Program
The Senior Food Box Program in Kilauea, HI, is dedicated to providing essential food assistance to low-income kūpuna through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). Each month, enrolled participants receive a thoughtfully curated box of quality USDA food designed to supplement their nutritional needs, helping to alleviate senior hunger and reduce the risk of health complications that can lead to costly hospital stays or nursing home placements. To join the program, interested individuals can download the application from online resources and submit it to the Hawaii Foodbank. Due to increasing demand, there are currently wait lists at our distribution sites, and individuals are added in the order their applications are received. While waiting, there may be opportunities to receive extra boxes if available at the end of each distribution. We are committed to supporting our kūpuna and ensuring they have access to vital food resources.
