About Senior Food Box Program

The Senior Food Box Program, also known as the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), is dedicated to supporting low-income kūpuna in Kilauea, HI, by providing a monthly supply of high-quality USDA food. Each Senior Food Box is carefully designed to meet the nutritional needs of seniors, helping to alleviate hunger and reduce the risk of health issues that could lead to expensive hospitalizations or nursing home placements. This essential food assistance program plays a crucial role in empowering our elderly community by ensuring they have access to vital nutrients. To join, interested individuals can complete an application available online and submit it to the Hawaii Foodbank. Please note that due to the program's popularity, there are currently wait lists at all distribution sites, and while you are on the list, receiving a box each month is not guaranteed. Extra boxes may be available at distribution events for those on the wait list, ensuring we strive to maximize accessibility for our kūpuna.
