About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Kualapuu, HI, is dedicated to cultivating advocates for a just and sustainable food system. By offering a tuition-free program, we ensure that access to organic food system education is available to all. Our Fellows engage in hands-on training at our picturesque farm, learning to grow and distribute diverse crops while implementing educational initiatives that elevate food and ecological literacy within their communities. Throughout their fellowship, participants will support vital projects such as school gardens, farmers markets, and community food coalitions, empowering them to create meaningful change. After six months of immersive education at the farm, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, partnering with regional nonprofits to apply their skills directly to local challenges, thereby enhancing food access and promoting health across Hawaii. Applications for this transformative experience are open until March, with the fellowship running from May to October each year.
