About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Lanai City, HI, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. This hands-on program empowers Fellows through comprehensive training in organic food system education, emphasizing social, environmental, and economic justice. Participants engage in meaningful projects such as growing and distributing diverse crops, leading health education sessions, maintaining community gardens, and enhancing food literacy within schools. By collaborating with regional non-profit organizations, selected Fellows spend six months on the agricultural campus gaining practical experience before transitioning into a Community Action Year to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world settings. The Fellowship aims to foster innovation and accessibility in food assistance, ensuring that every community member has access to healthy and nutritious food. With no tuition fees, we prioritize inclusivity and encourage applicants to apply by March for the program that runs from May to October.
