The Senior Food Box Program in Lawai, HI, offers essential food assistance through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), providing low-income kūpuna with a monthly delivery of nutritious USDA food. Our mission is to address senior hunger and its related health risks, helping older adults maintain their well-being and reduce the likelihood of expensive hospital stays or nursing home admissions. Each carefully assembled Senior Food Box is designed to supplement vital nutrients, enhancing the health of our seniors. To join this vital program, prospective participants can access the application online and submit it to the Hawaii Foodbank. Due to limited capacity and high demand, there are currently waitlists for distribution sites, and clients are served in the order of their application's submission. While on the waitlist, participation in monthly distributions may not be guaranteed, but extra boxes are offered to those waiting at the end of each distribution. We are dedicated to ensuring that our kūpuna receive the support they need.
