The Senior Food Box Program in Makaweli, HI, also known as the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), is dedicated to providing essential food assistance to low-income kūpuna. Each month, this program delivers a nutritious box of high-quality USDA food, specifically designed to combat senior hunger and enhance health outcomes, thus helping to prevent costly hospitalizations and nursing home placements. We understand the urgency of addressing food insecurity in our senior community, and our monthly food boxes aim to supplement vital nutrients that many may lack. To join this life-changing program, applicants can download the application form online and submit it to the Hawaii Foodbank. Due to the overwhelming demand, please note that there are wait lists in place at all CSFP distribution sites. While your application is processed, you may not receive a box each month, but we strive to provide extra available boxes to those on the wait list at the end of each distribution.
