About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Maunaloa, HI, is dedicated to training and empowering a new generation of advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic values. Through an experiential and immersive six-month program, selected Fellows engage in organic food system education and collaborative projects that include growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing health-focused educational sessions, and supporting community initiatives such as farmers markets and school gardens. This hands-on training culminates in a Community Action Year, where Fellows apply their knowledge in partnership with local non-profits, enhancing access to healthy food and fostering ecological literacy. By eliminating tuition fees, the fellowship promotes inclusivity, inviting passionate individuals to contribute to meaningful change within our food systems. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
