About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Mountain View, HI, we are dedicated to training and empowering the next generation of advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic sustainability. Our program offers organic food system education, allowing selected Fellows to immerse themselves in a hands-on, six-month residential experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus. During this time, participants grow and distribute diverse crops, implement educational initiatives in healthcare, maintain community and school gardens, and promote food and ecological literacy in local schools. Following their fellowship, Fellows engage in a Community Action Year, where they apply their knowledge collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to enhance access to healthy foods. We believe in making our fellowship accessible, which is why we do not charge tuition. Applications are open until March, with the program running from May to October each year, ensuring we cultivate informed leaders in food advocacy.
