About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
Based in Naalehu, HI, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to advocate for a food system that is just, sustainable, and inclusive. Our program provides comprehensive organic food system education and equips Fellows with practical skills to grow and distribute diversified crops on a market-style farm. Participants engage in meaningful community initiatives, including implementing health-focused educational sessions, maintaining school and community gardens, and enhancing food literacy among students. By supporting local farmers markets and developing direct-to-consumer distribution channels, we work to increase access to healthy foods for all. Over a six-month immersive experience at our farm, selected Fellows receive hands-on training followed by a Community Action Year, where they apply their knowledge in collaboration with nearby non-profit organizations. We believe in making this opportunity accessible, as there are no tuition fees associated with our Fellowship. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
