Early Head Start (EHS) in Ookala, HI, is a caring and supportive federally funded program dedicated to enhancing the lives of low-income families with infants, toddlers under three, and pregnant women. Our comprehensive home-based services provide essential early childhood education, health screenings, and personalized family support through weekly home visits. Each visit focuses on helping parents nurture their child's development, ensuring a strong foundation for future learning. Additionally, we encourage community building through bi-monthly group socialization activities, where families can connect and engage in enriching parent-child activities. Currently, our services are available throughout East Hawaii, and we are actively working toward expanding classroom locations in Hawaiian Beaches and Hilo to further our mission of fostering a healthy, educated, and connected community.
