About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Pahala, HI, nurtures the next generation of leaders in food advocacy and sustainability. This transformative program empowers selected Fellows through hands-on education in organic food systems while promoting a just and equitable food landscape. By providing a tuition-free experience, we ensure that the Fellowship is accessible to all passionate individuals. Over the course of six months, participants engage in experiential learning at the farm, focusing on growing diversified crops, implementing educational health initiatives, and developing community gardens. Fellows also work on mentoring future advocates, supporting local farmers' markets, and enhancing direct access to healthy foods. After completing their training, they embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to effect meaningful change. Applications are accepted until March, and the program runs from May to October, inviting participants to join us in fostering a resilient food system.
