About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Papaikou, HI, is dedicated to empowering the next generation of leaders in sustainable agriculture and equitable food systems. This program offers a unique blend of hands-on training and community engagement, ensuring that our Fellows become effective advocates for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through comprehensive education in organic farming practices, Fellows gain invaluable experience in diverse areas such as crop distribution, community gardening, and the integration of food literacy into educational settings. With no tuition fees, we strive to make this fellowship accessible to all aspiring advocates. Selected participants will engage in a six-month immersive residency at our farm campus, followed by a Community Action Year, during which they will implement their skills in collaboration with local non-profits. Applications are open until March each year, and the fellowship runs from May to October, providing a critical pathway for meaningful involvement in transforming food systems within the community.
