About Children with Special Health Needs Program (CSHNP)
The Children with Special Health Needs Program (CSHNP) in Princeville, HI is dedicated to ensuring that children and youth ages 0-21 with chronic medical conditions receive the specialized health care they need to thrive. Our mission is to support the optimal health, growth, and development of these children and their families through a comprehensive array of services. We provide vital information and referral services, coordinate specialty medical care, and offer nutrition and developmental services tailored to individual needs. CSHNP also facilitates access to hearing and vision care, transition planning for adult health care, and provides limited financial assistance for specialty treatments when qualifying income levels are met. Our program coordinates a network of medical specialist visits and offers essential support, including laboratory tests, prescription medications, and travel accommodations for families requiring services across the Neighbor Islands. Families and healthcare providers are encouraged to reach out to learn how we can assist in navigating the health care system for children with special needs.
