About Senior Food Box Program
The Senior Food Box Program, also known as the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), is dedicated to providing vital monthly food assistance to low-income kūpuna at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii. Each Senior Food Box contains a curated selection of high-quality USDA food designed to supplement essential nutrients and tackle the pressing issue of senior hunger. By improving access to nutritious food, this program plays a crucial role in enhancing the health and well-being of our community's elders, helping them avoid costly hospitalizations and extended care. Participation in the program requires downloading and submitting an application to the Hawaii Foodbank, after which enrolled seniors can access their monthly boxes at designated distribution sites. Due to high demand and limited availability, there may be wait lists for Senior Food Boxes, and extra supplies are offered as they become available. We are committed to supporting our kūpuna with the nourishment they need to thrive.
