Early Head Start (EHS) is a vital program located in Volcano, HI, dedicated to providing comprehensive prenatal and early childhood education services for low-income families with infants and toddlers under three years old, as well as expectant mothers. Our EHS home-based program is uniquely designed to serve families across Hawaii Island, particularly focusing on East Hawaii. Through personalized weekly home visits that last 1.5 hours, our caring home visitors empower parents with the knowledge and skills to support their child’s development effectively. We also facilitate group socialization activities twice a month, nurturing a supportive community where parents and children can engage and learn together. Our comprehensive offerings include early learning resources, health and development screenings, family support, a prenatal curriculum tailored for expecting mothers, and the Partners for a Healthy Baby curriculum, ensuring that every family receives the support they need for a healthy start.
