About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Volcano, HI, is dedicated to cultivating passionate leaders in sustainable food systems. This hands-on program empowers Fellows to become educators and advocates for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through a unique six-month experiential residency at our farm, followed by a Community Action Year, participants gain valuable organic food system education and practical skills. Fellows actively engage with local communities, working with partners to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health care education, maintain school and community gardens, and promote food and ecological literacy. Our commitment to accessibility means we do not charge tuition, ensuring all aspiring leaders can participate. Join us to make a meaningful impact on the availability of healthy foods through farmers markets, community coalitions, and mentoring the next generation of advocates. Applications are due by March of each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
