About Senior Food Box Program
The Senior Food Box Program, also known as the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), is dedicated to supporting low-income kūpuna in Waianae, HI, by providing a monthly supply of nutritious USDA food. Our mission is to alleviate senior hunger and improve health among older adults, helping them maintain their well-being and potentially avoid expensive hospital stays or nursing home placements. Each monthly food box is thoughtfully designed to supplement essential nutrients and enhance the quality of life for our participants. To join the program, simply download the application available and submit it to the Hawaii Foodbank. Given the high demand for our services and limited availability, please note that all distribution sites maintain a wait list. Your name will be added to this list in the order of application receipt. While on the wait list, we cannot guarantee a monthly box, but we strive to provide extra boxes to clients at the conclusion of each distribution to those waiting. Together, we can ensure our kūpuna receive the nourishment they deserve.
