The Senior Food Box Program, part of the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), is dedicated to providing essential food assistance to low-income kūpuna in Waianae, HI. Each month, we deliver high-quality USDA food boxes designed to supplement the nutritional needs of seniors, addressing the critical issue of senior hunger. Our goal is to improve the health and well-being of our kūpuna, helping them avoid expensive hospitalizations and nursing home placements. To join our program, interested participants can download and submit an application online to the Hawaii Foodbank. Due to an overwhelming need, we currently have wait lists at each distribution site; applicants will be placed in order of their application date. While on the wait list, receiving a box is not guaranteed each month, but we do distribute any extra available boxes at the end of each CSFP distribution to those waiting.
