About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Wailuku, HI, is dedicated to nurturing and empowering individuals to become advocates for a food system that champions social, environmental, and economic justice. Our program offers comprehensive organic food system education, enabling selected Fellows to engage deeply in community initiatives. Through hands-on experience at our farm, participants will learn to grow and distribute a variety of crops, implement educational health programs, maintain gardens, and foster food and ecological literacy among local schools. Additionally, Fellows will support farmers' markets and direct-to-consumer food programs, developing vital distribution channels for healthy foods and participating in community food coalitions. Our commitment to accessibility means we do not charge tuition, allowing passionate individuals to focus fully on their training. Over a six-month immersive experience, followed by a Community Action Year, Fellows work closely with nonprofit organizations to apply their skills and make a meaningful impact in their communities. Applications are open until March, with the fellowship running from May to October each year.
