The Senior Food Box Program in Waimanalo, HI, is dedicated to supporting low-income kūpuna by providing a monthly distribution of high-quality USDA food essentials through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). Our mission is to alleviate senior hunger and its associated health risks, helping kūpuna access vital nutrients that can prevent costly hospitalizations and nursing home placements. Each Senior Food Box is carefully curated to serve as a valuable nutritional supplement, addressing the unique dietary needs of our older community members. To join the program, interested individuals can download the application online and submit it to the Hawaii Foodbank. Please note that due to overwhelming demand, wait lists are in effect for all CSFP distribution sites, and while on the wait list, receiving a box each month cannot be guaranteed. Nonetheless, we strive to ensure that extra available boxes are offered to clients on the list after each distribution.
