Early Head Start (EHS) in Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii, is a vital federally funded initiative dedicated to supporting low-income families with infants and toddlers under three years old, as well as pregnant women. Our program focuses on early childhood education and holistic services, providing weekly home visits that empower parents and promote child development. Families receive personalized attention through our child-centric visits, ensuring they have the tools needed for healthy growth and learning. EHS also offers engaging group socialization activities twice a month, allowing parents and children to connect through meaningful interactions. We provide essential services including early learning, health and developmental screenings, and specialized curricula for expectant mothers. As we expand our reach, we look forward to opening additional classroom locations in Hawaiian Beaches and Hilo, ensuring that all families on the island have access to our supportive programs.
