The Senior Food Box Program, part of the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), is dedicated to providing critical food assistance to low-income kūpuna at Wheeler Army Airfield, HI. Each month, enrolled participants receive a carefully curated box of quality USDA food, which is essential in addressing senior hunger and improving overall health. By supplementing nutritional needs, the program helps seniors avoid the high costs associated with hospital stays and nursing home placements. To join this vital initiative, interested individuals can download the application online and submit it to the Hawaii Foodbank. While there is currently a waitlist due to high demand, those on the list will be prioritized in the order their applications are received and may receive extra food boxes at the end of CSFP distributions, although monthly availability is not guaranteed.
