About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Adel, IA, is dedicated to fostering a just and sustainable food system by training and empowering a new generation of agricultural advocates and educators. Through a unique six-month immersive program at the Allegheny Farm, Fellows receive organic food system education and hands-on experience in cultivating diverse crops, running markets, and maintaining community gardens. The Fellowship promotes accessibility by eliminating tuition fees, allowing participants to engage in impactful projects that integrate food and ecological literacy into schools and communities. Upon completion, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local nonprofit organizations to advance food equity and support initiatives such as farmer's markets and health-focused educational sessions. We invite passionate individuals to apply by March to be part of this transformative journey that runs from May to October.
