At ChildServe’s Autism Program in Ames, Iowa, we are dedicated to providing a comprehensive suite of services tailored for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. Our evidence-based approach equips children, teens, and young adults with essential skills for social integration, academic success, and active community involvement. We proudly house one of Iowa's few autism diagnostic clinics, where our expert child psychologists collaborate with occupational and speech therapists to offer accurate diagnoses and personalized resources. Our unique Autism Day Health program—currently the only one of its kind in Iowa—provides intensive weekday care, blending therapy, nursing, and skill development for children aged 2-6. We also offer targeted Autism Intensives, designed to enhance communication and daily living skills, alongside behavioral support woven into all aspects of our programming. Our social groups foster communication and confidence in small settings, while our Life Skills Program prepares teens and young adults for greater independence in their lives. Via our Supported Community Living services, specially-trained caregivers provide one-on-one support to help children build essential life skills. Through our medical nutrition therapy and family education initiatives, we guide families through the complexities of raising a child with ASD, ensuring they have access to the resources and funding opportunities essential for thriving.
