At Breastfeeding Peer Support in Ames, IA, we believe in the power of nurturing connections through breastfeeding. Our mission is to provide vital assistance to new mothers, offering evidence-based resources and emotional support during one of the most significant phases of motherhood. With knowledgeable peer counselors, we equip breastfeeding mothers with essential tools like breast pumps and nursing supplementers, and help navigate challenges such as latching difficulties. Our program not only promotes optimal infant nutrition through breast milk but also fosters a community where experienced mothers can share their insights and encouragement. To participate, mothers must reside in Jasper, Mahaska, Marshall, Poweshiek, Tama, Boone, Hardin, or Story counties, be enrolled in WIC, and meet income eligibility criteria.
