About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Anamosa, IA, is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of leaders in sustainable agriculture and food systems. Our program sponsors, trains, and empowers Fellows to advocate for food systems that prioritize social, environmental, and economic justice. Through a hands-on, experiential learning approach at the Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows engage in organic food system education and partner with regional non-profit organizations to implement impactful projects. During their six-month Fellowship, they gain valuable experience growing diversified crops, supporting community gardens, integrating food literacy into educational programs, and enhancing access to healthy food through local farmers markets and distribution channels. We believe in promoting accessibility to education, which is why we do not charge tuition for our program. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the Fellowship traditionally running from May to October.
