The Iowa Individual Disaster Assistance Grant Program (IIAGP), managed by the Iowa Community Action Association and based in Bettendorf, IA, provides crucial financial support to families in need during times of disaster. Activated by a disaster proclamation from the Governor, this program offers grants to households with an annual income at or below 200% of the federal poverty level, allowing eligible families to receive up to $5,000. This assistance can be utilized for essential needs such as temporary housing, food assistance, personal property replacement, and critical home repairs. To take advantage of this support, families can download the application and submit it to a local Community Action Association before the specified deadline, ensuring they receive the help they need during challenging times.
