The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Boone, IA is dedicated to empowering passionate individuals to advocate for a just food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable. This impactful program provides comprehensive organic food system education at no tuition cost, promoting accessibility for all aspiring Fellows. Participants engage in hands-on training at the beautiful Allegheny Farm, where they learn to grow diversified crops, implement innovative health education, maintain community gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy in schools. Throughout their journey, Fellows also support local farmers markets, develop channels to increase access to nutritious food, and collaborate with regional non-profits during their Community Action Year. With applications accepted until March, this six-month fellowship from May to October transforms dedicated individuals into influential leaders committed to enhancing their communities' food systems.
