At HIRTA Helps RSVP in Boone, IA, we empower older adults, individuals with disabilities, and veterans by providing essential services through the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) under AmeriCorps Seniors. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life in Central Iowa Counties, including Madison and Marion, through non-emergency medical transportation, food assistance, and companionship services tailored to individual needs. We conduct personalized intake assessments to ensure that each community member receives the appropriate food support, whether that involves access to local food pantries, grocery shopping assistance, or meal preparation help. Additionally, our companionship services range from friendly visits to helping clients engage in local events. While we welcome donations, our services are offered free of charge. We are actively seeking volunteers aged 55 and older to join our mission, with incentives such as a $25 gift card for our first ten volunteers upon completing their initial assignment.
