About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Burlington, IA, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to champion a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through our fellowship program, we provide comprehensive organic food system education, ensuring accessibility by not charging tuition. Fellows engage in hands-on experiences for six months at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where they learn to grow diversified crops, implement innovative health care education, maintain community gardens, and teach food and ecological literacy. After their immersive training, they embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profit organizations to enhance food access, support farmers markets, and lead community food initiatives. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
